Zelda Rubinstein Dies at 76!
Actress Zelda Rubinstein, who is best known for her portrayal of the spirit talker Tangina in Steven Spielberg's 1982 film Poltergeist, has passed away. Her agent, Eric Stevens, confirmed the news that she passed away of natural causes at Barlow Respiratory Hospital in Los Angeles on January 27. She was 76 years old.

Zelda had been hospitalized in December after two of her major organs failed. According to reports, family insisted Rubinstein was on the mend earlier this month.

A close friend said that she was very much at peace at the time of her passing.

For us horror fans, Poltergeist is the film she is best remembered for, but she also appeared in Poltergeist 2: The Other Side, Poltergeist 3, the Poltergeist television series, and Behind The Mask: The Rise Of Leslie Vernon.

Her non-horror film, and television credits include National Lampoon's Last Resort, Sixteen Candles, Caroline In The City, Picket Fences, and 'Mr. Belvedere!

New Elm Street DVD Set!
With the April 30, 2010 release date for the A Nightmare On Elm Street remake coming up quick, New Line is not wasting the chance to re-release the eight films in the original franchise in a new DVD box set that's arriving on April 6.

New Line hasn't packaged all of the films together as a set since they released that black-boxed special edition collection back in 1999.

Since the original box set release the films have been paired up on two sets, featuring four films per set.

There has been no official word as to any extras there may or may not be on this collection. At this time all that is known to be included are the 8 films, including Freddy vs Jason.

However, Robert Englund fans should note, that while the new box set artwork features the dark image of Freddy, it is the Freddy played by Jackie Earle Haley in the upcoming remake, and not the original Robert Englund version.

The glove on the new box set artwork has been replaced via photoshop with an original glove!

Zombie Christmas Carols!
A few days ago I got my hands on a copy of a new book that is a must own for the zombie lover in your life this holiday, or should I say helliday season.

The book is called, It's Beginning to Look a Lot Like Zombies: A Book of Zombie Christmas Carols, and it is written by Michael P. Spradlin. The book also features unbelievably gross, but fun illustrations by artist Jeff Weigel, and an introduction by New York Times Best-Selling Author Christopher Moore.

This book takes around two dozen classic Christmas carols and flips them around with a zombie twist to make them Christmas SCARE-ols, instead of carols.

Some of the carols include;
I Saw Mommy Chewing Santa Claus, We Three Spleens, Let's Feast On Merry Gentlemen, Zombie the Snowman, Zombie Claus Is Coming To Town, Rudolph, The Zombie Reindeer, and more!!

I personally read this book, and it is THE must own book for zombie lovers during the holidays!

NECA's New Freddy Figure!
Even though it's a figure, here is you best shot to date at seeing the face of Freddy Krueger from the upcoming remake of A Nightmare On Elm Street.

Horror figure fans can rejoice in the fact that NECA Toys is creating a new Freddy Krueger figure from the upcoming remake due out in April of 2010.

There will be a burned Freddy (pictured), and a pre-burned Freddy as played by Jackie Earle Haley. Pictures of both figures can be seen at Dread Central.

NECA's Head of Product Development, Randy Falk said that NECA has re-aquired the rights to both Freddy, and Jason. He said that both of the Freddy figures will be released before the remake is released, and there are plans for a new classic Freddy figure to commemorate the original film's 25th anniversary.

Halloween 3-D in 2010!
Even though Rob Zombie's Halloween II finished it's opening weeked at the number three spot, it did pull in $17,405,000

Due to the box office take over the weekend, Bob Weinstein announced that Michael will return for another trip down the streets of Haddonfield in Halloween 3-D.

The investment it takes to shoot movies in digital 3-D has proved particularly lucrative for horror films. For The Final Destination, this weekend's number 1 movie, theaters with at least one 3-D screen earned 3.25 times as much as those that showed the movie in 2-D only, according to distributor Warner Bros. Back in January, the horror flick My Bloody Valentine earned 6.4 times as much from 3-D theaters as it did from 2-D on its opening weekend.

Weinstein said Rob Zombie, who directed Halloween II and 2007's reboot of the 31-year-old horror series, won't return for Halloween 3-D. He said the studio is in negotiations with a new director, whom he declined to name, who has experience in horror and has a "different take" on the franchise!

Creepyworld Robbed!
Sheriff's investigators for Jefferson County in Missouri are searching for thieves who robbed the Creepyworld haunted attraction in Fenton. Several full standing characters such as bloody pigs, latex skeletons, and other props were taken.

This comes as a huge blow to the haunt which is scheduled to open up for haunting on September 11. Creepyworld still plans to go ahead with the 2009 season.

The owners of the attraction believe that the thief or thieves are people who are either big halloween enthusiasts or want to open their own haunted attraction.

The props that were stolen, that take weeks, and sometimes months, to make and deliver, have a value estimate between ten and fifteen thousand dollars.

If you have any info on this case or see any new props appearing on various sites which may have belonged to Creepyworld, you are asked to contact the Jefferson County Sheriff Department.

Michael Jackson

1958 - 2009

We here at Channel 66.6 HM Haunted Radio wish to send our deepest condolences to friends, family, and fans of the legendary Michael Jackson.

Michael Jackson, the undeniable "King of Pop", died yesterday June 25, 2009 due to a yet to be determined reason. An autopsy is scheduled for today.

Michael Jackson won 13 Grammy Awards, and had 13 number one hits.

For us horror fans, we all remember his hit from his 1984 album of the same name, "Thriller!" The song's music video was featured in primetime on MTV and featured Michael as a warewolf, and assorted zombies, among other horror aspects. The song also featured a rap by legendary horror actor, Vincent Price.

Despite his "troubled" past, the world lost a legendary singer!

Halloween 2 Poster Unveiled!
Even though Rob Zombie's reimagining of the John Carpenter classic Halloween was a financial success, there were many people who were very disappointed in the film collage poster for the film.

The poster is actually pretty good looking with an animated Michael Myers slashing down a victim that is unseen in the poster, and you can see Michael holding some blonde locks in his left hand.

The tagline "Family is Forever" is referring to the supposed family secrets of his past.

Returning for the sequel are Malcolm McDowell, Scout Taylor Compton, Danielle Harris, Sheri Moon Zombie, Tyler Mane, and Brad Dourif.

The new film will hit theaters on August 28.

Tired of being single?? Well, horror and zombie fans now have their own online dating network at, Zombie Singles.

This is somewhat of a normal dating and friend meeting website, where you can create your own profile with likes and dislikes, however, they are zombie likes and dislikes.

Also, the greatest thing is you can upload your own photo, or use your webcam to take a photo, and then "zombiefy" your photo.

On the left, is the website's logo, and a personal picture of myself after it was "zombiefied!"

Once your picture is up, you can add scars, various wounds, various eye sockets, noses, gruesome mouths, decaying skin, and more. You can even decrease the blood level of your skin and adjust how much of a "zombie blue" you may want your skin to be.

Once your profile is up you can download the picture to keep. It looks like a great site!
