MTV to do the Time Warp!
MTV announced that they will be remaking the classic 1975 cult film, The Rocky Horror Picture Show.

The film will feature all new music with the original screenplay by Jim Sherman and Richard O'Brien

There was no announcement on cast or a director at the moment, but there is expected to be some names mentioned very shortly.

There was no time set for when production was to begin but the partners attached to the project so far are aiming to move forward very quickly.

One of the people attached so far said that it is up to MTV, but they would love to see it aired a year from this Halloween on the station.

The original film, which starred Tim Curry, Susan Sarandon, Barry Bostwick and Meatloaf, went on to gross $140 million in domestic box office over the years, primarily from midnight screenings!

New figures displayed at San Diego Comic Con '08!
With it being the San Diego Comic Con going on, tons of new products are debuting and being displayed and we have some goodies for you.

If you look at the picture to the left you can see two new products. One part of the image is of the prototype of NECA's new Exorcist figure. Unlike the hyped about "spider walk" scene figure that images were released of earlier in the year, this is of the classic moment where Reagan is possessed in bed.

The other part of the image is a prototype figure for the Plantinum Dunes remake of Friday The 13th, coming in 2009 from Mezco Toys.

Earlier this week images leaked onto the internet and Warner Bros contacted several sites about removing them, but we can tell you, the image of this Jason figure is VERY much like the images of Jason in the film.

These images are prototypes and not the final figures!

Robert Englund will NOT return as Freddy for the Nightmare remake!
With the news posted below a few days ago about the new Platinum Dunes produced, A Nightmare On Elm Street remake, word has been buzzing around the internet as to the status of Robert Englund returning to play Freddy again.

While talking to Italian web publication Bad Taste, Mr. Englund, himself, shot down the possibility of him reprising the role by saying he's "too old for this new version". He did state that he is open to making a cameo in the film, but not returning as Freddy.

Like it or not, the new film is coming, and it looks like it'll come without Robert Englund as the iconic character.

Englund is currently at work on his next directorial film, The Vij.
